From there, you board a boat to explore the four legendary islands of Long - Lan - Qui - and Phung — iconic for generations. Taste raw wildflower honey straight from the source and watch skilled local beekeepers extract it by hand. See traditional puffed rice crackers being made the old-fashioned way, then stop by a rice paper workshop and watch the craftspeople at work.
Continuing the journey, you'll hop aboard a tuk-tuk and weave through quiet village lanes — putting you right in the middle of local daily life rather than watching it from a distance. Then sit back and enjoy a platter of fresh tropical fruit while listening to đờn ca tài tử — the soulful folk music of Southern Vietnam, recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The afternoon arrives gently. You glide through cool, shaded waterways aboard a traditional three-plank sampan, the sound of the paddle on the water the only thing worth hearing. Stop at a Ben Tre coconut candy workshop — where this beloved local sweet is still made entirely by hand, passed down from generation to generation.
Then comes the part nobody quite expects: crocodile fishing and hand-feeding catfish — thrilling and strangely delightful in that way only the Mekong Delta can pull off. After all that, you'll sit down to a proper Mekong-style lunch — traditional recipes, fresh local ingredients, and the authentic flavours of this river delta.
In the afternoon, the journey takes you to Vinh Trang Pagoda — one of the oldest and most celebrated temples in Tien Giang. Its remarkable architecture blends Eastern and European influences, set within a serene garden with towering Buddha statues. A quiet, meaningful stop to learn more about the faith and culture of Southern Vietnam.
