Itinerary:
8:00 AM — Guest pickup at 189 De Tham Street, District 1: The vehicle departs from central Saigon, serving freshly made bánh mì prepared by The Rice Travel Group's own kitchen team throughout the approximately 60–70 minute drive to the outskirts of the city.
Stop at Dai Viet Cu Chi Lacquerware Workshop: Before stepping into the historic site, the group visits a traditional lacquerware workshop — where skilled artisans create lacquer paintings, hand-embroidered artwork, and Vietnamese gemstone jewelry. A gentle, culturally rich pause that eases the mind into the spirit of Cu Chi.
Cu Chi Tunnels Historic Site: The tour unfolds in a thoughtfully structured sequence:
Watch a documentary film about the lives and resistance of the Cu Chi people — an important foundation that many rushed tours tend to skip. Explore the Ben Dinh Tunnel area, featuring secret trapdoors, decoy wells, an underground conference hall, and intact tank wreckage amid the forest. Continue to the Ben Duoc Tunnel — experience crawling through the tunnels firsthand, discovering the multi-level tunnel system, camouflaged air vents, and displays of handmade booby traps. Visit the underground weapons workshop — where weapons and traps were crafted from battlefield scrap metal beneath the earth. Guests may then try sport shooting (AK-47, M16, etc.) at their own expense (optional, based on individual preference).
End of Tour — Enjoy Boiled Cassava & Hot Tea: Guests gather together to savor what the people of Cu Chi actually ate during their most difficult years: boiled cassava dipped in peanut salt, paired with hot tea. Simple — yet the quietest and most memorable moment of the morning.
Approx. 1:00–3:00 PM — Return transfer to Saigon.
